Setting Up a Buddy List

1. Double-click the AIM Triton icon.

2. The AIM window will open. Once the Window is open. You can sign into your screen name.

3. Select the text box under Screen Name. Then type in your screen name.

4. Select the Password text box and type in your password

5. Click the Sign In button.

6. The Setup window will open first. You need to go ahead and go through this, so that you will not be prompted to do this again.

7. Click the Next > button till you reach the end of this setup.

8. Click the Finish button. Once you have clicked Next all the way through this set up
9. This will bring you back to the AIM window. Now it is time to set up your buddy list.

10. Click the Actions button

11. Then select Add Group

12. Click into the text box beside Group, and name the group. For your classes you will want to name this group the same as the class name.

13. Click the Save button. Now it is time to start adding your buddies.

14. Click the Actions button

15. Then select Add Buddy

16. Select the group that this buddy belongs to. For your classmates, select the name of the class.

17. In the text box beside IM, type your classmate's screen name.

18. Click in the text box beside First Name and type your classmate's first name.

19. Click into the text box beside Last Name and type your classmate's last name.

20. Click the Save button. Now that you have added your buddy, you can add the rest of your class mates.
21. If you want to view your classmates’ actual name instead of their screen name, you will want to turn on the Friendly Names option. To do this follow the next few steps.

22. Select the View menu item

23. Choose the Friendly Names option.

24. Now your classmates' names are visible.
